📜 Vetri Thamizhagam — How It Compares to Past Vision Documents Unveiled 18 Jun 2026 · Governor's Address
Every new Tamil Nadu government since 2012 has opened its term with a numbered, multi-year "vision document." Vetri Thamizhagam continues that tradition — but its content mix leans far more on heritage & water security (Keezhadi UNESCO push, Mullaperiyar dam, river interlinking) than either predecessor, which were almost entirely investment-and-jobs framed. The Tamil-language branding itself (vs. English "Vision 2023/2030") is a deliberate identity signal, and the TN Investor Promotion Commission is the one clearly new institutional mechanism — a Chief-Secretary-headed body to fast-track projects above ₹200 Cr or 5,000 jobs.
